Tribalism and ethnicity has emerged as a generative theme in Zambian social and political development. It is against this background that the essay use the play 'Builders and Destroyers' by Dickson M Mwansa, with the help of other articles from different social media in identifying and analyzing the major and minor themes emerging from the conversations. In Builders and Destroyers, the playwright explores the divisive nature of ethnicity whose stranglehold is defeated by the love between two young people whose love rises above prejudice.
